On friday and saturday, I went to Brightspot! After a long time patiently waiting, I finally went. To be honest, I did not really enjoy my time there because the variety of clothing this year was not as independent as ones last year and the year before that. I find that I could just buy most of the items at the Goods dept. Thats just my personal opinion. This year, I was on a $50ish budget. Managed to find some really good deals. My favorite find was a necklace from shamanistic (will be posting pictures about what I got in Brightspot)
Based on the picture above, you can tell that I went WAY overboard with my outfit of the day but who cares. I incorporated a lot of patterns because I wanted to dress a little flashy for Brightspot. For my top I wore a cropped top that I bought on the first day. This was also one of my favorite finds and I will be looking forward to wearing it often. My outerwear is from Argyle and Oxford. I got it from last years Brightspot. Argyle and Oxford has really nice stuff but sometimes they can be super pricey. For my bottoms, I wore my patterned pants from (x).s.m.l. They are super comfortable. And my shoes are basically brown ankle boots. My headpiece is from House of Jealouxy. A brand that I found when I was walking around the booths. I LOVE the store keeper. I know I always say this but hey I think I bond pretty well with them. This year if I had to rate Brightspot from 1-10, it would be 7,5. Minus points for the lack of unique clothing.
And that is it for today! For you guys who went, I would love it for you to share some pictures!

Hey you guys! I’ve been doing a lot of researching on what is going on in the fashion world. If I had to describe the current trend in two words it would be prison break. I don’t know how but don’t you think it’s odd? They somehow remind me of beach umbrellas. Spring would be a season where soft colors are expressed and incorporated with what you are wearing. In the year of 2013, designers have been really into stripes. Not necessarily black and white but all kinds of colors. I really love the fact that they are finally breaking the chain of soft pastel colors because in my opinion pops of colors can be a teeny bit boring sometimes. On the other hand, black and white stripes I really love! I’ve been spotting really cute striped pants in Zara and I have been meaning to get them but they are way to pricey. Any recommendations? I cant wait to try to experiment with this new trend whatsoever. The pictures below are some of my personal favorites.
PS, A new photoshoot will be posted around next week? And we recently made an instagram account so it will mean so much if you would make time to follow us. @fashionismychurch
I dont own these pictures I got them from the Harpers Bazaar.
Anyway, Have a lovely weekend you guys!

Hey everyone, it’s Karisa! Today I have a nails of the day post to show you all! This is a first for the blog ;)
So today I wanted to play more with striping tape because it creats really neat designs. I painted my nails with Orly’s Bonder base coat and then 2 coats of Chanel’s Diwali, which is a gorgeous pale gold metallic color. Then I created the designs using the striping tape using cuticle nippers to cut off the tape when I needed to and I painted over the tape with the green color which is Don’t Mess With OPI from (obviously) OPI. It’s quite opaque so it almost only took 1 coat to cover everything with the gold underneath. I took the tape off carefully with tweezers and then voila, my designs were made! I finished everything off with Orly’s In a Snap quick dry top coat. Working with striping tape is quite difficult if you aren’t used to it because it really is very tiny and it does require a lot of time and patience but if you have enough of that, the results are totally worth it! That’s it for the blog’s first nails of the day post, I hope you enjoyed the design that I created as much as I do.
Have a lovely week everyone!
